September 21, 2011 – Plaintiffs Seek Reinstatement of $1 Billion Verdict Against State Farm
Last week, Don Barrett and his co-counsel filed a motion in the Illinois Supreme Court asking that a 2001 verdict of $1.05 billion against State Farm Insurance Company be reinstated because State Farm committed fraud on the court. The Plaintiffs contend that State Farm bought a seat for a supreme court justice in 2004 so that State Farm would win the appeal of the historic verdict.
